Friendship money can’t buy

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

I really can’t understand Malaysian’s ethic business and being a buyer. Most of Malaysian bought something out of it and regret later while trying to figure out to make seller to refund. This is not the right way of doing business and giving out business to others. It’s rude!

One case I’ve countered. Just my experience. Sold a nice fine lens which claimed to be AP with 1 Year warranty was only RM1550. Original was more than RM1600. Buyer agreed and bought happily ( but not ever after ). After purchased from me, he go on surveying with other outlets and finally approach me and accuse me for being “hao siao” ( i.e Bullshit ) Hey you are in front of me and I was with other clients of mine and you spill out the mean word to me. This is RUDE!

What he claimed was someone did sell him PI ( Parelle Import ) set of the same unit for RM1450 and dare to self claim 1 year warranty which I as a reputable seller for more than 5 years dare not to say that thing. I know that PI set wont have 1 year warranty unless the seller unexperienced.

It’s hard for me to guide this buyer and further more this buyer being recommended by my VIP client. I can’t ignore this. So being a reputable seller, I have my responsibility to settle the case. Right or wrong, I chosen the path that’s made what I am today.

My solution was, I refund him the amount that he paid and request him to buy from other guy which DARE to give 1 year warranty to him for the low price he got. I think this solution would be better for a seller and buyer and as well the person who recommended him to me. Sometimes we have to think for others. I just don’t want my VIP client to be put to blame for this matter as this is only me and the buyer.

Put it this way, anyway this buyer was belong to one of famous hairstylist studio in Penang. We put it as H Studio. A famous studio in Penang. Their hairstylist are well-known and with high reputation with full of skills.

Example :-

Their hair-cut price is RM15
Their hair-dye price is RM100

One day, a client named A went to H studio to have a hair-do and have his hair dyed. After having his hair cut, he would like to proceed to hair-dye session. Before that process he asked the price. He was shock why H studio more expensive than other studio around in Penang for that particular session. Outside you can get it for RM50 half the price of the original. Same Liquid and Same solution they are using.

The other studio might be using same thing but different process and skill. You might end up hair color messy and smear when attach to the rain waters. Forcing yourself to DOWNGRADE your service and reputation is not what I want. I want GOOD QUALITY products and SERVICE.

I’ve learn a lesson from an old guy which thought me last time how to deal in a business. He told me, be a seller, you must have at least:-

1. GOOD REPUTATION
2. BE RESPONSIBILITY
3. THINK FOR OTHERS
4. CONTROL WEALTH

This is right. I have my reputation well build for more than 5 years in MALAYSIA. Not only in Penang Island. I’m doing international business trade as well. I just doesn’t want RM100 difference jeopardize my sales and reputation in my home town.

If you asking me to downgrade my price and use bad material. Oh I’m sorry that just not me! I’m Matthew Chuah and I’m not going to spoil my name just for that. If I can’t promise you I won’t have your sales! I rather NOT as I have to think for my company’s future and myself.

Lesson for today :-

Do not argue or accuse a seller. Be nice to him and ask for resolution. Spare with him about 30 minutes. Listen to the seller. Everything will be fine. Not only seller has to be reputable, as a buyer you have an important role to play. Sometimes you won’t know what will happened and one day, you might bump to emergency and you need to seek help from the seller which is professional to guide you through. I’ve been helping a lot of my clients and now today they are professional and earn more than what I’ve been doing through this years :) I’m happy that I could do something for CLIENTS WHOM TRUST ME and thanks for your support.

I hope Malaysian attitude and ethic would change to have a better living.

Sue Ann : Waiting For Love

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Being invited by a group of enthusiast with a pretty lady were an honor to me :) We’ve learned a lot of things with this group and each time we joined together, we contribute 5% of our knowledge for each other. Now I love to have shootings with groups rather than a single person.

Being stingy learn nothing. Being group you learn at least 5% and make more new friends :)

All right, here’s some shots to share with you guys on that day shooting with Sue Ann in a dilapidated railway station ( some say haunted as being ages over there ) ehhehe…. who cares~ We are GHOST BUSTERS LOL!

P/S : We used a lot of spaces and available lighting over there. Most of the shots are non-flash triggered. So Enjoy~

Level 2 : Bloody Harvest ( A Scene from L4D )

Monday, April 6th, 2009

It was fun being invited to shoot our model of today. She’s Sue Ann and first time being shot with us :)

Friendly girl and easy to compose. She just finished her MASCOM in KTAR and persuade her dream to be a marketing manager in a giant company in Penang.

We finally discovered our long-time-plan-to-go place. This place creates the vintage mood and produce the magnificient outcome to our picture.

I plan to create the scene into one of the L4D (LEFT 4 DEAD) Scenes.
Don’t worry, there’s no ZOMBIE were harmed beside monkeys lol

Stay tune to my slideshow after this group pictures.

Louis Pang : Extraordinary Workshop March 2009

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I’ve learned a lot of my silly mistakes during this workshop. No one has ever given me any honest correction in my picture except for our mentor , Louis Pang. No regret for myself indulge into this workshop as it had given me hope and guided me to the right path. A lot of us are misguided and mislead. You need someone which is most awarded and talented to give you a torch.

A special thanks to our mentor, Louis for your generosity to get us to the light.

Talking about the dream team , that’s what I have been dreaming to create one. It’s not easy but I can feel the hope within me and some of our fellow members in this workshop. Their art are magnificent.

This workshop ( especially 2nd day ) was fantastic. Given 5 minutes to arrange the model for posing. It might seems impossible, but Louis can make it. So there’s nothing impossible in this world unless you ignore it.

Here’s some of my shots during the workshop. Feel free to comment.
