Louis Pang – Extra-Ordinary Workshop March 2009

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Darn…having sleepless night. Can’t wait for the ” extra-ordinary workshop ” which conducted by our Malaysia’s most awarded wedding photographer. He is nice and friendly guy. Talked to him during yamcha ( coffee break ) session with him during noon today and of course with my buddy ahhu as well. Once we touched on the photography topics, Louis would be excited to share with us his experience with his previous shooting about wedding couples in Penang. We learned a lot from him even though it’s just a 30 minutes of yamcha-ing session.

Now I know that capturing a portrait is not as easy as you think. You need lots of angle , lighting , and of course your camera setting haha. If you got the exposure wrongly, it’s either you will end up under expose or over expose.

Once you can master it all, just blink an eye you can just start trigger it without mistake.

Louis is going to conduct 3 days lesson from tomorrow until Sunday. From 10am until 7pm and furthermore it’s only RM1800. Talk about price is not the main factor. The main thing is that you are now learning and being guided by a Malaysia’s most AWARDED photographer. It’s not easy to enter WPJA / WPPI / AGWPJA. You need the determination and courage plus skills to get into it.

My real dream is to get into WPJA / WPPI / AGWPJA and compete with world most famous photographers. Get Awarded and be creative. Wish I could be like him one day…..

Sherlyn and Yao : Summer Love

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

What a nice Sunday. Thanks for John arrange for us to shoot with a wonderful couple. Sherlyn and Yao being known each other for sometime and their love grew much more within them. They got to know us (me and ahhu) through John’s network. It’s nice to co-operate with them and to be frank, they are superb! They know how to post and not-camera-shy type.

In this gallery, we used up a lot of gadget and skill. Beside PS, we use lots a lightning and some with natural light source (of course with the right light)

Another thing is that I’m using SU-800 to master control all my slave flashes. With our lighting boy (John) help, it came out a masterpiece of our own. You can fire your slave through your reflector (white) to produce more diffusive.

So guys, enjoy the gallery. If any error occurred, please do forgive me and give me some comment. I love comments…… :D

CY : Tropical Girl

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

2 weeks ago, CY met me up to arrange with her a self-portraiture shooting. This time we change to tropical area in Penang beside urban. We agree upon a 3 hours shooting session with her.

I’m using Nikon 50mm F1.4 lens for most of the shots with her without changing other lenses as I personally felt it is convenient and light weighted compared to other lenses. Furthermore, It’s practical using it with D3 Full Frame camera. A total awesome with this great combination as its totally different when you are using it to the 1.5x crop factor cameras. You can’t enjoy the real ” view ” out of it. All pictures with ISO setting less than 400.

So enjoy the slideshow!

Lina and Lionel Couple Shot

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Thanks ahhu for inviting me to join his private couple shot last saturday night nearby Penang port. It was around 10PM. Quite dark and lonely street. We decided to use the environment to the fullest.

Our theme for today : ” Street Lovers ”

Alot of gadget we utilize that night. Video light , monopod , speedlite (to use as slave mode) , high-powered video light , and all those F2.8 lenses.

Kinda hard to get a nice picture at low-light but we never give up. When there’s a will there’s a success!
